Brisbane by morning

The reverie
Is interrupted
By threads of infinite lightness

The veil that covers her
Like a lover’s tears

There is beauty in stillness.

She smokes and glistens
While we converse with ourselves
The curlew’s call amidst the morning news

We have forgotten to listen.

In this embrace today
All is eternity
The future present and the past perfect
As I melt into this landscape

In a dew drop instant.
